About Me

Debbie Wells~ A woman's walk through hormone imbalance.

The Change of Life~So Young??

It was late spring of 2003 and I had just finished a grueling yet exciting year in my life. I was 45, almost 46 years old and I was running a very successful, Cottage Industry business, Debbie's Clayground, that I had started myself, eight years prior. I was on the board of directors for ChemoAngels International, http://www.chemoangels.com as well as serving as a volunteer ChemoAngel and Angel2TheHeart in one of my best friends national Angeling organizations. http://www.angels2theheart.com.

I competed in the Mrs. Oregon United States Pageant in May of 2003 and was living life in what seemed to be tenth gear. My instincts were telling me that things were changing in my body and something was different. I was fatigued in a way that had not been familiar to me ever before in my life. My memory was all but nonexistent, my hair was falling out, I had been diagnosed with hypoglycemia, severe insomnia, debilitating depression, fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, mood swings, rage, chronic fatigue, loss of libido and the list went on. When the pageant schedule ended, I was the proud recipient of the *Mrs. Oregon Enterprise 2003* title. I decided I needed a nice long break from the pace I had been living life and gave myself a month off from all of the activities I was involved in. Little did I know that I had been living on mere fumes for at least three years. I was working out in the gym, twice daily in preparation for the pageant, I was eating like a mouse and sheer will drove me through those years when most of my nutrition came from the tiny bit of cream I added to my coffee. When I stopped working out, my endorphin levels dropped dramatically, my sluggish adrenals flattened all the way out and my own hormone levels were completely out of whack. I found myself in crisis. I was terrified of the changes that were taking place, depressed because no matter what I did, I couldn't turn things around for myself. I had always been a very strong individual, never afraid to try new things or talk to new people. My list of symptoms grew both in number as well as intensity as time passed. Before I finally found my answer, I ended up on 5 prescription drugs and underwent surgery for excessive heavy bleeding, the Uterine Ablation. A procedure that requires searing the lining of the uterus to help thin out the thickening of the uterine wall. This is just a brief testimony of how estrogen dominance interrupted my life. I was frightened, lonely, frustrated, and angry...

After going to the Dr. several times in the course of just a few months, and being told I was far too young to be entering into any phase of menopause, I began searching for information on my own, and found Dr. John Lee's book, *What Your Dr. May Not Tell You About Menopause* I devoured the book in about 4 days time and knew this book held the answers to all the suffering and frustration I was experiencing, however, I had already tried two of Dr. Lee's recommended progesterone creams and while both of them worked for a couple of months, my list of symptoms quickly returned near the end of the second month of use. I was so discouraged and walked away from my progesterone experience thinking *I must not be a good candidate for progesterone therapy*, because I had given two different progesterone products a try and both failed me. It wasn't until later that I learned according to Dr. Lee, a cream is not a cream when it comes to progesterone. He states on his website, a list of criteria to look for when looking for a good progesterone cream. A) It shouldn't come in a jar, because each time you open the jar, air hits the contents of the jar and changes the molecular structure of the contents inside, as each time you insert your finger into it, you are introducing bacteria into the content as well. B) The Progesterone should NOT contain any waxes, paraffin by products, glycerin or heavy oils. All of these ingredients are considered clogging agents and will not allow the progesterone to enter the blood stream through your skin. So I checked the ingredient lists of both the creams I had tried and sure enough.... they were both loaded with the ingredients I mentioned. I decided to give natural progesterone one more try and to my delight, I found the cream that I now consider the best available! It's been over two years since then and I am still using this precious cream that my husband decided to call *Marriage in a tube!* We still laugh about that together. Oh yes.... laughter! I am laughing again and living life to it's fullest!

Progesterone gave me my life back, I am so grateful and now I am on a mission to help spread the word about hormone balancing with natural progesterone. I speak at seminars around the nation, I am a talk radio host, I have several colleagues I work with at this mission and we are always looking for other women who would like to join us as we make a difference, one woman at a time.

Many Blessings~
Debbie Wells
